I don't know about you young at heart ladies, I don't think I'm a senior yet, but I do find I have to wear glasses every now and then. When I don't need them I find it annoying to have to find them each time I want them. So when I know I'm going to need them often I will wear my necklace, to hang them temporarily and make the glasses easy to grab.
