Plodding Along

It's been exciting launching the new website Amron Jewels. Loads of people have given me feedback and I've had sales, but it's still a learning curve, which feels like a steep hill. That's why I am plodding along.

For those who keep asking me, yes I am putting my Genuine Swarovski crystals online, I just wasn't going to do it so soon. But after the huge response to Amron Jewels website I've been adding the Swarovski crystals for my beading customers. Make sure you check out Amron Jewels for current updates and I'm offering great discounts if you buy in bulk, with free postage if you spend $30 or more in one transaction.

Because I've been spending so much time adding the Swarovski crystals to the website, in the middle of the Christmas rush and planning to get away for a few days, I haven't had any time for creating jewellery. But there are many designs coming soon.

Hopefully, the few days I have away with my family will refresh me to be all ready for more action when I return. Please note any orders made on Amron Jewels between 28th December - 2nd January will be despatched on my return. Have a lovely time with your family over the holidays.

Web site launched today.

Launched my web site today. Amron Jewels is now live. It was terrifying and exciting all at one time. I have heaps more jewels to upload. There is still lots of work to do.

I've decided to keep my jewels separate from my beads. So beads and findings will be offered to you through my Amron Jewels ebay store only. All beads and findings on my ebay store are free of postage & shipping costs within Australia. So, keep your eye on the store or make it a favourite.

Now that the Amron Jewels website is up and running I will be spending more time on tidying up and organizing the Amron Jewels ebay store properly, lots more to upload there but will take a little time.

If there is something you know I had in the store and you'd like to purchase just email me through Amron Jewels ebay store or through amron.jewels@hotmail.com.

Frustration

Frustration is the only word I have for what is happening as far as my website goes. I'm waiting and waiting for the web guy to get something done, give me access, or just anything. I want to sell my jewellery supplies to you, my good customers, but my hands are tied up with all this waiting.

Anyway, I thought I'd post this message and let you know to just send me an email, on amron2121@hotmail.com, or contact me through Facebook. Most of you know what I have. If you aren't sure just ask me. We can arrange postage or whatever works for you. Let me know.

Meanwhile, I will try to see if I can get things moving a bit quicker as far as having a website to sell my goods to you.

Crystal Cuff with Slight Ruffle

I made this cuff for a customer who wanted it to match a particular gorgeous top. The thing was, once we got outside the colour of the blue zircon Swarovski crystals looked completely different and were not a great match for the top. I ended up using three shades of the Swarovski crystals; amethyst, tanzanite & purple velvet to make her another cuff, which she loved. I can make this in any colour combination you choose. Send me an email if you'd like one in another combination. This one fits a 14.5cm wrist. I also have the beads & findings for this bracelet available to buy separately. I hope you like it.

The Perth Craft & Quilt Fair

Phew! What a week it was at the Perth Craft & Quilt Fair. Set up was stressful. I had girls helping me running late. All those last minute things that just go wrong, too. But after all was said and done I had a good busy week. I suppose I'd like to have sold more, but overall it was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed.

There were new contacts made, loads of goods sold and new beading friends to share ideas with. Although, I felt exhausted at the end of the week, it helped me to focus on what exactly I want to do so far as selling online.

I'll be scrapping the etsy idea and focus only on my website: Amron Jewels; and updating Facebook and this blog.

Closing the Bead Shop

So, I finally closed my Amron Bead shop after five years. I made loads of good beadie friends and learnt heaps about selling beads in that time. It was hard work finishing up. The last month with the 40% off all stock made for a busy, busy time. We officially closed the doors May 1st, but then came the chore of moving all the gear out. Although plenty of stock sold, there were still beads, findings and various other goods, including the shelving, to take out and fill up the truck we hired for the move.

My husband and I worked most of the Sunday to carry it all out, but he insisted I take a break in the afternoon. Friends dropped by, so I simply had to stop, though I'd have pushed on through if they hadn't shown up. But they brought along their three kids the next day to join my three and we moved every last object out of there by 2.30 in the afternoon. Not bad at all.

Then there was putting it all into my house. The front room and garage are filled to the brim with shelves, but it looks really good. The kitchen table has strands of gemstones pooled into piles and there are boxes in the entry, but I'm working my way through that. Running my business from home is feeling more right every day.

But my back and neck ached from all this extra activity. Even after a massage I'm still sore. Most nights I fell asleep by eight, which was a lovely change of pace for me, anyway. So, now I'm still getting everything ready for the Craft & Quilt Fair this week.

I've been packing kits, shoving lots of tens and twenties into small plastic bags, pricing, deciding what to take & what not to take. As you can imagine I'm still pretty busy. Soon I'll be adding stock to my etsy store, so keep your eye out for that. I'll share with you again once I have something happening there.

It's a Mad House

Photobucket

You would not believe how mad it's been just this last month. Once I decided to close the Amron Bead Shop, it was on. 40% off all stock was enough to drive people, in droves, to my store, many for the first time, as well as loads of regular customers telling me how sad they were to see me go. All of them spending heaps of money and time in the store.

I can't say I'm sad. I've hardly had a moment to draw breath, let alone express any emotion about leaving the store after five years. This month of being rushed off my feet has sealed the deal. Taking the leftover stock to the upcoming Perth Craft & Quilt Fair, my soon to open web page - Amron Jewels, and to my Etsy store, also known as Amron Jewels, I'm looking forward to setting my own hours running my online business.

All of this is new to me. I'm diving head first into the whole world of the internet. It's like learning the rules to a new game and coming up against better players. I understand I'm more likely to be left with no one wanting me on their team. I have a lot to learn. But I hope you can help me on my journey as I discover how this all works.

I'll be sure to update you when everything begins. Please follow me on Twitter or Facebook to find out when stock is available online. Thanks for reading.

My First Post

I enjoy hand making unique jewellery, just like this silk flower wrist corsage. The flower centres are Swarovski crystals and comes on a hand beaded friendship bracelet. The effect is stunning, especially for weddings or school balls. I've been making these with the crystals to match the gowns. They're proving a popular choice since I first created this idea.

In the photo (below) you can see the hand beaded friendship bracelet made of crystal delicas, and the extension chain with an elegant drop bead. These wrist corsages are available in your choice of colour for the Swarovski crystal centres and will be available soon on my new etsy store: Amron Jewels, which will be opening soon.
